Session price includes time and talent of photographer, extensive editing of 20-40 images, online gallery, 3 printable images on CD, all web resized images on CD.  If Cd is purchased, it will include all edited images as high resolution files as well as web ready files.

Some photographers might think I am crazy, but I really do enjoy doing large families!  Most feedback I get is “that was so fast and painless!”  I guess that is what happens when I controlled 6 different classes of 36 high school kids all day for 3 years.  I really do enjoy photographing big families, and this one was great!  I got to do a few families as a mini session and that was just the icing on the cake!  Enjoy the Thompson family!

It is always an intimidating and at the same time exciting moment when I get to shoot another photographer!  I have always admired Joanna Taylor’s work since I started my business and was thrilled when she asked to do a beauty session.  Matt and I will be doing a beloved session with her next month and I am so excited!  So if you live north of Salt Lake, you HAVE to look her up!  She is amazing.

Now onto her beauty session.  Joanna is such an incredible individual.  She is passionate, loves her family, and knows how to work!  It was a complete pleasure to photograph her inner and outer beauty!  Joanna brought along Laa (Makeup by Laa), a FABULOUS make up artist with her and she is amazing!  I wish I could keep her right next to me all the time to work on me constantly!  She does amazing work and has just about every MAC product I think they make.  Joanna was nervous just like everyone is when we first started shooting, and again I got to witness someone transform and truly embrace who they are.  I will NEVER get tired of that!

I know I said Rachelle was superwoman, but Kellie is superMOM.  As a mother of 5 children under 9 years old, there is nothing Kellie can’t do!  She looks absolutely amazing in these photos and for those who don’t know Kellie, after looking at these photos probably think she has modeling experience and that this came so easy to her.  But I have to say some things about my sweet sister-n-law as well as this session and I hope I don’t embarrass you Kellie!  She is quite unaware of how beautiful she is.  She is the most humble, kind and generous person and she cares genuinely for everyone around her.  But for some reason since I meet Kellie 6 years ago, she has always been extremely self conscious.   But she BLASTED through those insecurities during her session.  Not only was she workin’ it by the end of the session, but I could honestly tell that she believed she was beautiful.  Kellie worked on her ‘homework’ I gave her for weeks before her session!   These photos are some of my best work to date and I’m convinced Kellie really inspired me with her amazing countenance.

Kellie was also the initial spark that gave me the idea for my Beauty Campaign.  She wanted to have some HOT photos of her to give to her husband for their 10 year wedding anniversary, and that is what got the idea rolling in my head.  So thank you for being my muse Kellie.  You are unbelievably gorgeous in every way!

Here is what Kellie had to say about her journey even before she saw her photos:

“I enjoyed this session with you so much!  This truly was a journey for me that I began a few weeks back.  I have enjoyed pondering and trying to figure out who I am and what makes me special.  Although this is still an ongoing process I feel like a got a little glimpse of who I can be.  It was so refreshing to get all dolled up!  It reminded me of the old days when I worked in a salon.  I would spend all day helping people to feel beautiful.  In order to help others, I truly had to be secure in who I was and that was a big lesson to learn at the time and has been a big lesson to learn again as I try to help my own children know their worth.
I am sure every time I look at these pictures I will be reminded that In order to be “me” (the one who attracts and loves to help others feel special [whether it is as close as my own children or a stranger on the street])  I need to make sure I am secure in my knowledge of who I am.  I love recognizing that I am Beautiful because Heavenly Father loves me.  I am special and unique because of special gifts he has blessed me with, not if I finish my to do list EVERY day. ”

Rachelle is not only beautiful, but an amazing woman, wife, cook, homemaker, and mother of 3 of the most strongest boys I have ever seen.  She really is superwoman, and anyone who knows her would agree completely.  She is also my oldest sister and I love her to pieces.  While editing these, I still saw the sister who would slap my hand with the wooden spoon if I ever tried to snitch cookie dough before she was ready to give me some!  Good times!  But Rachelle, you are amazing, beautiful and an incredible person and role model.  I love you.

Here is what Rachelle had to say about her session before she even saw her photos:

I didn’t even have a chance to shower the day of my shoot.  I had “leftovers” for a hair do, that thank goodness worked a little bit when I took it down from the claws I had it in.  My make-up was done in the car waiting for the construction crew to open the road to the place we were going to shoot.  Mandi had a little window of time before another shoot and I was only in Utah for a few days.  But let me tell you about my experience….

Mandi found my Beauty.  I felt like she just sucked it out with that little camera of hers.  She moved me into crazy poses and made me do things with my neck and shoulders that would make yoga instructors proud.  She helped me remember I am beautiful.  I am of worth, and not just a frumpy mommy.  I believe there are two kinds of beautiful, one is easy to see and the other takes a harder look.  There is a reason I physically look the way I look.  There is a reason why I was placed in the family that I was.  That their love for each other, for family, and their God brought me into this world looking exactly the way I do.  That look is beautiful.  It’s me.  And I am a child of God.

I’m so happy that I was able to do a beauty session for my mom during the few days she was out here.  My Dad just craves and loves photos so much that he begged to get in a few too!  I hope he doesn’t disown me for saying that!  My parents haven’t had a photo of themselves in such a long time!  But they are so cute together and really had a lot of fun.

My mom is 100% a flower child.  Now I don’t mean hippy flower child, but seriously a flower child.  I think her dream day would be to spend all day in a garden smelling, touching, and admiring everything in sight.  In fact, I’m pretty sure she does that at least 5 days a week!  I love you guys and you look amazing MOM!

This next picture makes me laugh so hard!  I really couldn’t resist!  How can they look so happy and then so mad in the same session?  You should have seen how hard they laughed 1 second after I took this.  It is perfect!

I was able to do Stephanie and Ian’s maternity and newborn photos.  It makes such a difference to me to be able to do both of these sessions for a family.  I really feel so connected to this amazing family.  There were so many times that he looked right at me with his amazing blue eyes!  I also got more smiles from this baby in this session than I have in all the sessions since I started my business!   Cameron and I even got to snuggle for a while!  This kid is lucky he has parents as loving as these two.  I already raved about them in their maternity post, but I just had to do it again!  Meet adorable 1 month old Cameron!

It is always so much fun when I get to do a maternity session for a couple, and then see them again when they bring their new little bundle of joy.  Champ is definitely a stud.  He was a tiny little guy at only around 6 pounds!  I love that we were able to get some soccer ball shots lying on Dad’s first ball that he scored with while playing for the Utah Freeze.  Thanks so much Smith family for letting me photograph these special moments!

I will probably say the same thing everytime I post a Beauty session.  I am so passionate about my Beauty Campaign!!  It is absolutely incredible to see the transformation people go through!  Allison was no excpetion!  She started a little timid like everyone does, and by the end, she was WORKIN IT!  It really makes me feel so great.  I love how her session flowed and I love the photos!  Here is what Allison had to say about her session before she saw her photos:

That was so much fun! I loved how you made me feel like I was so glamourous and beautiful!  It was so fun getting ready, picking out my outfits, doing my hair and makeup, (thanks to my wonderful husband for being so supportive!).   Being a mom of 2 can be so crazy, and I get lost in it all. I was a little worried I would feel really awkward in front of the camera, but you did such a great job at making me feel comfortable and pretty.  By the end, I found myself getting into in more and feeling like a model or something…ha ha it was super fun! I really needed this.   Not just so I could have a georgous picture of myself (although that is good too), but just so that I could remember who I am a little more.   It helped me remember I am beautiful on the outside and inside, and it also reminded me of who I am trying to become and why I do what I do everyday.  I feel so beautiful today!  Thank you Mandi!

What a crazy family!  And when I say crazy, I mean one of the most playful, entertaining, and exciting families.  My cheeks hurt after this session from smiling.  There really wasn’t a dull moment.  So yes…we had a lot of fun and you can really see it in their photos!
